beardgrpW2016 will mark our 2nd Annual Beard and Mustache Contest! Beardsman of all ages will be able to show off their finest facial hair! No one grows a better beard than the Scots, so this contest is bound to be a bonny good time for all.

The competitions will take place on Saturday, April 23 and again Sunday, April 24.  Held at the Stirling Stage (near the Harlan’s Firehouse Pub and Information Booth) at 2pm each day.

The sport of Bearding has really taken off in America, with many professional competitions taking place throughout the country. American contestants are also taking first place in the World Bearding competition in Europe.

If you have facial hair come and join in the merriment! Honors and prizes will go to the first second and third place winners.

kidbeardsYour mission as a contestant is to have fun. To style, shape, condition, use beard oil and beard balm and or use mustache wax and hair spray and or to trim your facial hair in such a way that it represents the best in your category and shows off your unique beard and mustache color, texture, density and style.

Prize money for first place, along with our Games medals, and wonderful prizes sponsored by our vendor:  Scotsman Beard Oil.

Categories are:

  • Mustache
  • Partial Beard
  • Full Beard / Full Beard Natural
  • Free Style (Create crazy shapes, Colors, Put decorations in your beard.)
  • Cutest Bearded Child (ages 2 years to 10) (Face paint a beard, do a cardboard cut-out. Crochet a beard the child can wear!

There is no charge to be a contestant. Your admission ticket to the Sacramento Valley Scottish Games will get you into the games and into the Beard and Mustache Contest. You can register the day of the event at the Scotsman Beard Oil Booth, but contestants must be registered no later than two hours before the competition.
